Hardness TesterInspector

Position Summary

This position will work in the Heat Treat department and perform mechanical straightening of aluminum and magnesium sand casting. The position will also complete hardness testing on all castings upon the completion of the heat treat process. Additional duties as required.

Equipment

The position will be performed using a work bench with hand tools and gages to straighten and inspect castings. Also includes the use of hardness testing machines to perform hardness testing on castings.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

* Receive work assignments from supervisor
* Mechanically straighten and inspect sand castings per work instruction
* Conduct hardness testing per work instructions
* Complete documentation required for production and quality records
* Loading and un-loading of heat treat baskets
* Support management of heat treat test bar inventory
* Maintain a clean work area and support 6S initiative
* Notify supervisor of any job irregularities, faulty equipment or material

Desired Skills:

* Operation of hardness testing machines
* Experience/Knowledge of heat treating
* Good math skills
* Good organizational skills
* Experience using simple inspection gaging
