GSE Mechanic

Summary:

Avocet MRO Services has an immediate need for a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic at our Sanford, FL location.

Duties:

Responsibilities include: repairing and overhauling ground support equipment, performing troubleshooting of ground support equipment (both diesel and gas), maintaining equipment in a safe condition, performs preventative and routine maintenance servicing, keeping tools and support equipment in safe and operational working conditions, keeping work areas clean and free of hazards.

Requirements:

* Minimum 1 year related experience or Technical Degree.

* Must be a self-starter with a strong ability to manage time wisely and work alone.

* Must be able to work in an outside environment.

* Capability of understanding hydraulic and electrical systems.

* Must have their own basic tools and be able to operate various power and hand tools safely.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Must be flexible to work all hours/days including nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by operational requirements.

* Clean driving record, with DMV certified copy.

* Strong focus on safety and environmental compliance.

* Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including drug testing and background check as required by Airport Authorities.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
