GSE Mechanic

SUMMARY: Provide support for of all GSE equipment, vehicles and assist team members with daily maintenance and repair as required by the GSE Lead or Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:
* Conduct frequent visual inspections of GSE equipment
* Document inspections, and report all findings to Lead or Supervisor
* Check water in batteries and fill as required
* Check all fluids, and refill with appropriate fluid as required. Clearly document serviced equipment, amount, and estimated volume added
* Check equipment for proper operation according to check list for each equipment, document inspection and any findings; jump start equipment as instructed
* Fuel equipment with gasoline, diesel, propane
* Empty fuel bowsers and lav carts as needed.
* Wash & lubricate equipment as needed
* Assist GSE Mechanics and GSE Master Mechanics as necessary.
* Willing to support other Site Services team members when requested
* Pick up or Deliver equipment & parts as directed to various hangars or support buildings, or outside vendors

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Required to carry radio or other communication device

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
N/A

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that you are provided with full information on your area specific safety issues, all unique hazards are identified and you are provided with the proper equipment to carry out your job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported to your supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
* Ability to take instruction
* Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, etc
* Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
* Good oral and verbal communication skills. Possess basic math skills.
* Ability to learn general maintenance skills.
* Must be able to understand and follow safety procedures, wear proper PPE, lock out/tag out equipment safely, work off ladders, obtain hot work permit, enter confined spaces, etc.
* Ability to obtain runway crossing badge preferred

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
* Must be able to qualify to operate GSE equipment
* Must have valid Washington State driver’s license.
* Must have or be able to obtain the required tools to perform the essential functions of the job.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May be at elevated heights on ladders or lifts.
* The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
* This position requires the use of a respirator on occasion.

ENVIRONMENT:
* Ability to work in machine shop / component repair environment
* Momentary exposure to high noises
* Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents
* Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) may be required for certain tasks
