We are currently searching for a Ground Systems and Applications Engineer to join our team in Annapolis, MD (IMS INC) (5010). Job Summary

The Ground Systems and Applications Engineer will perform full life-cycle software development including designing software solutions; and implementing, integrating and testing developed solutions. Our software is part of a mission critical aviation communications network where protocols and high availability are integral to the software development.

Job Responsibilities

* Develop software applications and services using primarily Python and C++

* Integrate software applications for hosting on Linux and Windows platforms

* Use Open Source knowledge to vet and reuse publicly available solutions to the development process

* Perform multiple levels of testing from unit testing to functional end-to-end testing

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline. Preferred area of study is Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

* The ideal candidate will possess two to six years of software development experience

* The ideal candidate must possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills for working in a team environment

* The ideal candidate will be able flexible with work hours including occasional off-hours work for on-call response or to collaborate with International personnel

Desired Experience:

* Experience with both Linux and Windows OS environments, including implementing and managing virtual environments

* Experience with web frameworks, such as Django

* Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or SQLite

* Experience using IDEs such as Wingware Python and Visual Studio C++
