Regional Express (Rex) is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of more than 50 Saab 340 aircraft on some 1,500 weekly flights to 60 destinations throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.
An excellent opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to join the Sydney Engineering team as a full-time Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic. This position is ideally suited to a mechanic/diesel fitter that enjoys diversity.
Reporting
This position will report to the GSE Manager.
Position Responsibility
•Carry out preventive and unscheduled maintenance on Airport and Engineering GSE
•Ensure GSE maintenance tasks are completed timely (both scheduled and unscheduled)
•Travel to remote locations on short notice for GSE maintenance
•Carry out other duties from time to time as advised by the GSE Supervisor
•Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
•Perform Electrical Test and Tag of Company equipment
•Use of basic computer programs for GSE database updates
•Other duties as directed
Essential Selection Criteria
•Working knowledge electric and mechanical equipment is essential and hydraulic systems knowledge is desirable
•Ability to be flexible with working hours
•Proven self-starter with a flexible attitude
•Ability to work on your own
•Experience is required using basic computer programs for GSE database updates
•Current Driver’s License and hold or have the ability to obtain an Airport ASIC Security ID and Airside Driver’s License
•Forklift license (desirable)
Preferred Selection Criteria
•Previous GSE servicing experience would be desirable but not essential
