Description:The Applied Artificial Intelligence Team is looking for software engineers who possess a passion for conceptualizing, building and testing autonomous systems. This position provides the opportunity to apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques in the software field to develop tangible, differentiated and meaningful solutions aimed at significantly enhancing the sustainment of complex systems and enabling future hyper-battlespace capabilities.
The selected candidate will be part of a range of projects including short-term sprints (rapid prototyping) and long-term engagements (database development and management). The team is focused on supporting major projects through the use of a small, innovative core team, leveraging AI to create and sustain state-of-the-art technologies across several Lines of Business.
The selected candidate will focus on Integration and Test, spanning the complete system development lifecycle. This includes requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test. The candidate can be expected to be exposed to Artificial Intelligence, with opportunities for study, personal development and experimentation in this area. The candidate must exhibit self-motivation, a strong work ethic, time management and interpersonal skills.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
The AI team would prefer to hire someone to work on-site in Shelton, CT; however, working virtually from a remote location may be possible under certain circumstances.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
• Extensive programming experience with either Python and/or Javascript
• Working understanding of software architecture concepts, paradigms, procedures
Desired Skills:
• Database creation/management (SQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience with network/messaging (UDP, ZeroMQ, etc.)
• RESTful API development
• Experience developing applications on Linux
• Experience with capturing Software Requirements
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Proficient understanding of client-side and server-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks such as NodeJS
• Experience with React, AngularJS, Vue.js or similar frameworks etc.
• Experience using build tools such as Webpack, Gulp or Grunt.
• Experience building front ends for mobile, tablet and desktop
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Good understanding of scalability design principles
• Understanding principles of design and knowledge of user experience
• Experience with Python and multiple libraries (NumPy, Scikit, Pandas, OpenCV, etc.)
• Self-starter with strong motivation and execution capabilities
• Team player, excellent communication skills
