Reporting to the Team Leader, Forward Planning, the Forward Planning Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the scheduled maintenance requirements of the Virgin Australia Airlines and Customers’ fleet are planned in a timely and efficient manner meeting CASA compliance and business requirements, and acting as the liaison between Virgin Australia Engineering, the Maintenance Provider and the Operations Group.

Focusing from a 5-year to 45-day time scale of implementation, this role will see you as participating in the development, planning and management of all Virgin Australia Aircraft Maintenance requirements which includes but is not limited to the evaluation and implementation in terms of planning, of modification programs, extended complex repairs, major and minor components stagger campaigns and heavy maintenance checks. This includes the coordinating the provisioning of materials, components and tooling to accomplish these events.

In addition a requirement of this role will be to provide input towards technical task implementation, MRO evaluation and quotation accountability and liaison with key stakeholders.

To ensure your success in this position you must have extensive Aircraft Maintenance experience in both a heavy and line maintenance environment along with proven analytical skills and ability to assess different scenarios and plan outcomes in the most compliant and efficient manner. You will also need highly developed computer skills. Experience with strategic forecasting and balancing potential supply chain problems against current/future capacity and capabilities would also be advantageous.
