Wyman-Gordon, located in Worcester, MA, provides Isothermal Forgings for military and commercial turbine applications using nickel based and titanium alloys. Full Heat Treating, Machining and Testing on site. This growing, $200 million profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion $ (NYSE) diversified manufacturer. Manufacturing Process Engineer

The purpose of this position is to provide program support to both Manufacturing and the Engineering organizations. In this capacity, the position will support/facilitate manufacturing process improvement efforts and plans. This position will also be responsible for implementing cost reductions, introduce and implement Statistical Process Control techniques as well as associated measurement and control systems, assist and develop Training program initiatives, and provide administrative and program support to Reengineering activities at the site.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Support and facilitate Manufacturing Process Improvement efforts and plans.
* Develop and initiate cost reduction programs in the assigned manufacturing area.
* Introduce and implement SPC techniques and associated measurement and control systems.
* Assist and develop training program initiatives.
* Maintain positive working relationships with all levels of the organization.
* Develop deep understanding of the operation and maintenance of the Isothermal forging presses.
* Implementation and program ownership of Lean manufacturing techniques

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

* 4 Year degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or related Engineering field
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment
* Exposure to Lean manufacturing techniques and project experience
* Strong knowledge of forging or metal working processes preferred
* Able to drive change in demanding atmosphere
* Strong communication and facilitation skills.
* Working knowledge of SPC tools and techniques.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or as a team member.
* Good organizational and writing skills.
* Proficient with Excel and basic knowledge of VBA preferable
* Basic CAD knowledge is preferable

US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
