Summary
The Flight Ops Technical Support Specialist is responsible to the Director of Flight Standards to assist with the management of technical publications material directly related to Flight Operations. This will include the responsibility to coordinate all Flight Operations manual suite edits and distributions, electronic flight bag hardware and application management, manual audits, and change management documentation (SMS). Included will be the responsibility to coordinate the technical information storage structure supporting Standards regulatory compliance document.

Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Education Other: Associate Degree in Aviation Management or related field required.
Certification: No
Years of Experience: One (1) or more years of aviation experience required.
Credit Check: No

Preferred Requirements
• Experience with technical writing.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Arbortext, and XML formatting.
• Experience with Safety Management Systems and Safety Risk Assessments.
• Experience with Mobile Device Management systems.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Detailed understanding of flight operations.
• Have the ability to multi-task in a growing and dynamic operations environment and work independently.
• Travel may be required.

Job Duties
• Responsible to Director of Flight Standards as the direct liaison with Publications on matters related to Operational Manual maintenance and publication.
• Manage the scheduling of changes to operations manuals.
• Schedule manual changes with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), to include manual updates.
• Responsible directly to each Aircraft Fleet Manager, Fleet Training Captains, and the Manager of Flight Operations Ground Training for coordination and tracking of all material in support of operational manuals.
• Provide technical writing and format assistance to the SME’s.
• Edit and prepare flight operations manuals for submission to the FAA as applicable.
• Track submissions to Publications and the FAA for approval.
• Coordinate with IT for the user acceptance testing of EFB applications and iOS updates.
• Initiate, coordinate, and document flight operations changes in accordance with approve Safety Management System requirements.
• In coordination with Publications, ensure that the proper MCR’s are prepared and submitted with the final work product for approval by the Manager of Publications.
• Responsible for the coordination of manual changes and distribution at distant training sites.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Flight Standards.

May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24 hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
