Position Overview:
*
Responsible for the satisfactory completion of all job assignments. Shall maintain discipline by counsel and reprimand when necessary. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge and experience to solve complex problems. Ensure safe, quality maintenance flight line operations to support the T-45 Program. Must be able to pass any Government/Company licensing/qualification/security clearance requirements for the position.

Must have extensive knowledge and experience in supervision and managing of flight line operations. Possess a strong background in fight line maintenance techniques and procedures. Have the ability to determine manning requirements, detect trends and predict surge. Must have extensive working knowledge of Naval Aviation Maintenance, Quality Assurance and COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 and 3710 series instructions. Must have excellent communication skills. Must display the ability to use good judgment, make sound decisions, and effectively direct the work of other employees.

Job Responsibilities:
*
Performs all duties of the job classification.
*
Coordinates the daily operations of the Flight Line Section including administrative requirements for all the assigned work centers.
*
Coordinates work schedules, job priorities and assets to ensure the timely completion of all aircraft daily and turnaround inspections and the accurate recording of source documents.
*
Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Control Coordinators to perform aircraft flight schedule, servicing and inspections covering three shifts over a 24-hour day.
*
Ensures accomplishments of inspections and servicing of aircraft/equipment.
*
Enforces and exercises continuous awareness of the maintenance effort to ensure compliance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program, and local Maintenance Instructions.

Interviews prospective employees, provides guidance, training, counseling and evaluation of Flight Line personnel.
*
Provides a courteous and positive liaison with the customer, supporting activities and L3 Vertex Aerospace employees.
*
Monitors the status of employee certifications and ensures they are updated as required.
*
Determines manning requirements for the assigned work centers.
*
May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
*
May be required to fill in for Maintenance Control supervisor as needed.
*
Assists as directed to ensure safety, security and preservation of Government-owned and Company-owned equipment.
*
Complies with and assures compliance with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations and proper emergency procedures, as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignments.

Maintains cleanliness of the assigned work centers.
*
Complies with Foreign Object Damage, Hazardous Waste and Tool Control Programs.
*
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Completion of high school or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of specialized schools such as US Navy AD, AMH, AMS, AE, AT "A" Schools. FAA A and P License desired, but not required.
* The Flight Line Supervisor shall possess an extensive background in the field of aircraft maintenance and material support with a minimum of ten (10) years experience within the last 15 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification. Of the ten (10) years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, six (6) years shall be in a supervisory position that included responsibility for assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts.
* The Flight Line Supervisor must have experience supervising daily flight operations personnel supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The Supervisor must be knowledgeable of technical directives and COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series; be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures; possess a working knowledge of applicable aircraft and shall have worked a minimum of one (1) year in a maintenance/production control position. The Flight Line Supervisor shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy and must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and protection.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
* This classification activity is usually accomplished in a flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with flight line activities. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
* The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or not physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wine, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
