You probably never think about it, but the engines on an aircraft need to be housed in safe, aerodynamic structures called “nacelles.” UTC Aerospace Systems’ Aerostructures business is a world leader in nacelle technology, which leads to better fuel efficiency, less engine noise and critical stopping power when the airplane lands. Primary Responsibilities:

* Perform repairs/rework on UTAS nacelles (thrust reverser, fan cowl, inlet, exhaust, demountable, fan cowl support beam)
* Primarily 787 but occasionally 737/767
* Backup to GAIS OEM
* Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

* Strong work ethic and ability to work alone without oversight (self-motivated)
* Composite repair experience
* Painting experience
* Professional appearance
* Ability to interact / verbally communicate with UTAS project engineering and customer on a day to day basis in a respectful and professional manner.
* Ability to obtain and maintain certifications as required such as seal, torque, respirator and electrical bonding.
* Ability to follow work instructions/technical requirements and to question operations that may be inaccurate or in error

Qualification:
Basic Qualifications:
* 1+ years of experience working as Assembler in the aerospace industry
* Must be able to work extended hours, off-shift hours, and weekend work as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
* Basic understanding of a nacelle system

Working Environments:
* Ability to mix, apply and work around sealants, solvents, and chemicals
* Ability to wear PPE as provided and required for job task

Education:
* High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
