About the role:

As the Fleet Engineer (Avionics), you will be an experienced professional responsible for maintaining and monitoring the continuing airworthiness of aircraft Avionic systems for the Virgin Australia fleet. Furthermore, you will monitor and enhance aircraft performance and technical dispatch reliability with preventive maintenance strategies. You will be flexible in the working hours and be able to work back or outside of hours for AOG assistance.

What you’ll need:

* You will have an understanding of the relevant operational and regulatory requirements, a thorough knowledge of the applications of aviation safety standards and experience in the assessment of service documents.

* Extensive experience in aviation, preferably in a Technical Services, Technical Officer or relevant LAME qualifications.

* A degree in a related engineering discipline, preferably in Avionics, and have significant experience in an airline Technical Services department or aircraft manufacture/repair facility. An aircraft engineer license in category B2 is highly desirable.

* Proven experience in the technical management of aircraft systems or interiors is essential.

* An understanding of the financial implications of effective configuration management will be highly regarded.

* Proficient in XLS, Microsoft Office word, and PowerPoint.
