The primary focus of the Financial Analyst will be to add improved insight, control and forecast accuracy to passenger and ancillary revenue. This will involve setting up support processes and systems required to deliver timely, accurate, scalable and automated reporting for Group Commercial (particularly Networks, Pricing and Revenue Management, and Ancillary) plus the Jetstar Executive Team (JET) and Qantas Group.
Your main accountabilities will include:
• Managing the delivery of timely and accurate analysis, forecasts and reporting of fare and ancillary revenue and yields to Jetstar Asia (JSA), including the development and build of passenger revenue forecast / budget outputs and maintaining tools that supports these functions
• Partner with Group commercial functions (Pricing and Revenue Management, and Ancillary) in evaluating and optimising commercial arrangements, coordinate regular tracking of revenue performance, understand and communicating key drivers / trends of revenue performance
• Partnering with commercial functions to support business case development and ad-hoc analyses to measure revenue impact of specific initiatives and events
• Project manage the development, analysis and reporting of all Executive Management Packs i.e. monthly results, forecast, budget, ad-hoc
• Manage the development and reporting of all KPI tracking to the Jetstar Executive Team with a clear and consistent presentation of performance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:
• Tertiary studies in related discipline (ideally Commerce or Finance)
• Professional Accounting (CPA/CA), or equivalent Finance qualification
• 2-3 years’ experience in the management accounting / business analyst arena
• Strong analytical, financial modelling and cause-and-effect skills
• Experienced in preparing and delivery of presentations to Senior Management
• Preferable airline or high turnover/low margin large industry experience
• Strong computer based skills (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Highly developed financial modelling skills
• Strong commercial acumen and proven analytical and interrogation skills
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of all outputs
• Excellent communicator (written and oral) with well-developed influencing skills and presentation skills.
