If you are a finance analyst with a passion for Aviation we have the perfect role for you within our Jetstar Australia and New Zealand (JANZ) Financial Planning and Analysis team as a Finance Analyst providing support and analysis for the Engineering department; primarily with our Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), External Maintenance Organisation and the Project Management Office.

*This role will be based between the Jetstar Engineering Office at Melbourne Airport and the Jetstar head Office in Collingwood.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Engineering the core duties and responsibilities of this role will include:

* Participate as a key stakeholder for the Management teams of the allocated Engineering functions, question and challenge the business and provide feedback and advice to drive optimal business outcomes
* Deliver clear and consistent reporting of financial performance including monthly results
* Measurement and tracking of cost drivers, operational metrics and cost initiatives
* Forecast and budget preparation
* Flag risks and opportunities to enable mitigation
* Implement process improvement to simplify and add value
* Provide financial support for business cases and/or contract reviews, including detailed financial modelling and analysis
* Educate and train the Engineering teams on financial aspects of the business.
* Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement cost saving opportunities.
* Provide financial support on new cost initiatives, with ongoing focus on unit cost improvement, working closely with Management
* Hold the Engineering teams to account for delivery of business cases
* Support the Engineering Finance Manager and the JANZ FP&A Senior Manager on adhoc projects, reporting and presentations.

The successful applicants will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

* Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA / CPA) or in progress
* Minimum 1 years’ experience of business partnering and analysis or management accounting
* Complex and high pressure corporate environment
* Aviation experience (preferable)
* TM1 knowledge and exposure to Oracle Financials
* Strong computer based skills (advanced Excel, PowerPoint)
* A highly efficient and committed individual with a well-developed ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Strong financial and problem solving skills, commercial acumen
* Good communicator (oral and written) and proven ability to interact with senior management
* Attention to detail, adaptability and ability to manage in a fast paced environment
* Change agent committed to continuous improvement
* Team orientated, with a high sense of customer satisfaction
* Strong ability to influence, cross-culturally, externally and internally and build relationships with stakeholders in multiple locations
