FACILITIES MAINTENANCE

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities, the Facilities Maintenance Tech performs repairs and upkeep on equipment and furnishings throughout the facility. Job duties require the use of several disciplines including mechanical skills, fabrication or welding, carpentry/painting, electrical, plumbing, heavy lifting, use of hand tool and power tools, and operation of forklift.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•u0009Performs routine periodic inspections and repairs on sheet metal machines, air conditioners, hoses, lights, fans, and assorted tooling and equipment.
•u0009Performs landscaping of facility with tractor with deck mower, bush hog, weed eater, blower, and hand tools.
•u0009Assist GSE mechanic with servicing compressors.
•u0009Move furniture as required to facilitate departmental moves or to accommodate floor stripping and waxing using electric buffers
•u0009Assist Facilities/Cleaner as required or when they are absent cleaning all bathrooms, toilets, hand basins, mirrors. Refill all soap and paper dispensers. Clean all areas assigned throughout facility.
•u0009Troubleshoot and repair, perform filter maintenance of office air conditioners.
•u0009Make mechanical repairs to heavy industrial equipment such as hangar doors, aeration pumps, catwalks, fall protection cables, aircraft shoring, maintenance stands, etc.
•u0009Perform routine maintenance of pumps, sprayers, motors, ovens, personnel doors.
•u0009Operate forklift to position equipment, empty scrap metal bins, and to replace hazardous waste drums from hangars.
•u0009Ensure that tools and equipment are correctly used and stored away properly both for safety and good housekeeping. Report any tool malfunction promptly with supporting documentation as per the Company’s processes.
•u0009Fabricate tooling per drawings with the aid of Facilities/Welder and Machinist.
Clean and detail company vehicles and refuel all equipment facility wide.

EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years experience in multiple disciplines including mechanical skills, fabrication or welding, carpentry/painting, electrical, plumbing, heavy lifting, use of hand tool and power tools, and operation of forklift.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

•u0009Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
•u0009Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
•u0009Talking to others to convey information effectively.
•u0009Must have own tools, as provided on CJ list of required tooling.
•u0009Is required to be proficient in oral and written English.
•u0009Must know how to operate and maintain all cleaning equipment including but not limited to, the Hydro-Genie Retriever, floor waxing equipment and forklift. Knowledge and experience in Handyman work-basic painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pest control and masonry.
