Job Description

Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) Subject Matter Expert (SME). This senior program engineer, as a member of the Weapons Integration Product Team (WIPT), provides support and technical expertise to support the research and qualification efforts of AME flight hardware necessary to suspend and employ stores on the F-35. This includes but is not limited to: pylons, bomb racks, suspension and release equipment, missile launchers, adapters, and umbilical cables. This position is located at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide technical expertise in support of development of electrical interface equipment and stores management equipment.

Provide programmatic and technical interface with weapon SPOs/PMAs developing carriage systems.

Coordinate joint service requirements and plans for use of legacy AME.

Maintain regular communications and liaison with Lockheed Martin personnel and reports relevant activities to the F-35 Weapons IPT lead and Eglin JSF Site Director.

Support the research, development, test, evaluation, systems integration, and programmatic support for naval systems integral to the Navy’s ability to achieve Integrated and Interoperable Warfighting Capabilities that produce an immediate and sustainable increase in warfighting effectiveness and battlespace dominance.

Support special technical research and studies. Characterize technical and organizational risks. Liaison required at the warfare center IPT levels, warfare center leadership, and systems commands.

Support the assessment of or development of program initiatives via independent research and development studies, document analysis and recommendations, development of white papers, and data analysis.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Doctorate degree in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain program security clearances.
