Primary Job Duties
This job is based in Denver (Training Base). - If a pilot is domiciled elsewhere that is ok - SkyWest WILL NOT provide travel or hotel to Denver. Occasional assignments outside of Denver are required. In these cases, travel, per diem and hotel are provided except for instructors who live or are based (pilot domicile) in that city.
Time commitment-one year from qualification.
Qualification for CTP requires observation of 4 days of CTP ground school the observation and teaching of each day of CTP sim.
* Teach CTP
* Stay current by being observed regularly
* Complete instructor CQ training
* Attend any required meetings
Minimum Requirements
* 2 yrs of 121 airline experience as a Pilot
* Ability to communicate effectively with others
* Positive attitude towards training, company and industry
* Teach and demonstrate all items of the CTP syllabus (normally CTP assignments are pre-assigned)
* Pre-assigned days are determined by the Training Dept.
* Pre-assigned days will vary between 0 - 15 per month. After qualification, the typical pre-assignment is 4-6 days.
* Assignments are regularly required on weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
* ERJ 175 Type Rating
* Previous instructor experience
Physical and Other Requirements
* Ability to sit for extended periods of time
* Ability to periodically stand, walk, and climb stairs
* Ability to travel, when required
* Job code will continue as a"Pilot" if already a pilot at SkyWest. CTP is considered an additional responsibility. As such, instructors are not bound by the PPM (MDG, overtime, etc.) during training department assignments. Training department policy, rules, and standards apply.
* Once qualified, pay is 1:1 for pre-assignments.
