Engineering and Apprentice Coach

Would you like to work within a rewarding role, unlocking the potential within the apprentices? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering and Apprentice Coach at our site in Portsmouth or Rochester with regular travel to our south sites
As an Engineering and Apprentice Coach you will be coaching graduate apprentices to reach their full potential. You will provide key support whilst mentoring and challenging the apprentices throughout all areas of their learning journey.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering and Apprentice Coach will involve:
Coaching graduate apprentices to reach their full potential by providing key support, mentoring, challenge and motivation throughout all aspects of their learning journey
Assessing and monitor learner progress & performance in line with the apprenticeship standards and the occupational expectations of the business
Effectively preparing graduate apprentices towards successfully completing their end point assessment
Accurately maintain and record data in accordance with funding and awarding body requirements and effectively manage the progress and performance of an allocated cohort of graduate apprentices
Effectively plan, support and monitor graduate apprentice placements to ensure clear objectives and alignment to the development of required skills, knowledge and behaviours

Principle Responsibilities / Tasks / Activities:
Holistically oversee and deliver an effective programme that utilises a coaching and blended learning approach to train, monitor, develop and assess graduate apprentices against the Level 7 Engineering Standard
Lead on the preparation and readiness of graduate apprentices completing their end point assessment and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders involved in this process
Effective communication within the business to ensure all stakeholders involved in the graduate apprentice learner journey are clear on their roles and responsibilities and working in support of the individual learning plan
Providing and monitoring the effective safeguarding, SHE, welfare and support arrangements for graduate apprentices throughout their programme
Effectively manage of the E portfolio system to ensure accurate and timely assessment, target setting and monitoring of graduate apprentice progress
Coaching and development of graduate apprentices through progress reviews, welfare support and careers guidance to aid their progression, attainment and transition into the business.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:
Degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline (Systems, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural)
Knowledge of professional engineering institutes
Able to obtain enhanced DBS and full security clearance

Desirable:
Training & Development qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Strong coaching skills with effective stakeholder management
Assessor Award qualification or working towards
Having knowledge and experience of assessment/ verification practices and awarding body requirements
Chartered Engineer
