As a Quality Engineer at AS&T you will be responsible for all machined and mechanical commodities to include inspection, documentation and internal and supplier corrective action. Other responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform precision measuring inspections utilizing a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

• Write, verify and validate CMM programs utilizing CMM software to enable automatic/repeatable measurements.

• Read and interpret Technical Drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 with extensive working knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Document and communicate product and process non-conformances and coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Configuration Management or suppliers to resolve technical/quality issues.

• Perform technically complex failure analysis investigations, root cause determination and effective and timely corrective actions, including proactive measures.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

* US Citizenship

* Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security Secret clearance

* A STEM Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

* Experience performing precision measuring inspections utilizing a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

* Write, verify and validate CMM programs utilizing CMM software to enable automatic/repeatable measurements.

* Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 with extensive working knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

* Experience using 3D CAD software

* Perform technically complex failure analysis investigations, root cause determination and effective and timely corrective actions, including proactive measures.

Desired Skills/knowledge:

* Provide feedback to product design team to improve design, assembly, maintainability and testability through all phases of the design and development lifecycle.

* Develop and maintain Quality documentation such as; procedures, work instructions, assembly procedures, inspection procedures, forms, etc.

* Promote the interchange of information, improvement plans, and corrective and preventive actions. Disseminate relevant information to affected functions and personnel. Offer short and long term solutions to resolve product quality and system problems

* Excellent critical thinking skills to identify root causes to complex issues and recommend options for resolution.

* Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment

* Outstanding work ethic, sense of urgency and commitment to organizational success.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office products

* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)

* Working knowledge of ISO and AS quality standards and procedures.

* Experience with Mitutoyo CMM and MCOSMOS-3 CNC Software

* Understanding of root cause corrective action and continuous improvement principles.

* Able to serve as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to quality issues.

* Hands on experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

* Leadership and communication skills written and oral; able to collect, organize, analyze and present on various quality data reports clearly.

* Self-starter who works well in a team environment.

* Able to provide support and leadership to team members.

* Able to serve as the liaison to external parties on matters relating to quality issues.

* Written communication skills including a successful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal computing skills

* Prior experience with Costpoint ERP or other ERP systems.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to travel up to 10%
