Engineer II – Electrical Design and Analysis

SUMMARY

Resolve complex engineering problems associated with support analysis, and modifications that require ingenuity and innovation. You will be working as a member of an International Test Requirements Development (TRD) Team with Electrical, Software, Systems and Project Engineers. The candidate must be skilled in MS office applications, have experience with analysis and simulation tools such as Pspice, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, QuestaSim, and SystemVision. The ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management and customers is essential. This position is located in Long Beach, CA.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other advanced technical degree

Preferred Accreditation:

US: American Board of Engineering & Technology (ABET)

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years’ relevant experience. Product engineering encompassing components of the entire life cycle –concept to delivery. Engineering experience with Boeing Commercial Aircraft or Military aircraft is a plus.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test Requirements Development

• Writing detailed non-complex and semi-complex CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) (Shop Replaceable Unit (SRU) or LRU (Line Replaceable Unit)theory of operations and developing associated block diagrams

• Identifying the layout of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) configurations with respect to Line replacement Unit (LRU) as well as the overall system level

• Developing overall test strategy, performance and diagnostics tests to detect and fault isolate to the failed components

• Resolving test integration issues that may occur during the test program set development cycle

• Attending project meetings, and supplying specialist knowledge of electrical requirements.

SKILL AND ATTRIBUTES:

The successful candidate should be experienced in analog and digital components characteristics and methodologies in support of circuit analysis.

• Experience in reading and interpreting analog or digital schematics

• Have familiarity with digital coding using Verilog or Very high Description Language (VHDL)

• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings (schematics, interface control drawings, functional block diagrams.

• Preferred but not required: experience in reverse engineering of PAL (Programmable Array Logic), PLD (Programmable Logic Device), and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Area) design

• Ability to travel for mentoring and /or customer interface sometimes at short notice

• Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products functionality.
