The Electrical/Electronic Engineering team at Moog Aircraft Group is positioned for growth. We are looking for a Component Engineer to provide technical guidance in the selection, control, and sustainment of electronic components used in our commercial and military flight control systems. This position is located at our aerospace facility in Torrance, CA. Moog Aircraft Group is the leader of advanced flight controls for commercial and military aircraft. As a Component Engineer, you will… * Provide guidance for Part, Material and Process (PMP) selection. * Review for compliance with customer PMP (Part, Material and Process) requirements. * Prepare, update and review Procurement Control Drawings (PCD) for Commercial "Off-the-Shelf" (COTS) parts; Source Control Drawings (SCD) for custom made parts such as custom magnetics; and Selected Item Drawings (SID) for screening components to a specific requirements. * Identify component obsolescence/diminishing source issues and recommend solutions. * Provide technical advisement for part supplier quality problems related to processes and testing (screening & acceptance). * Review the components Bill of Material in design phase, and make recommendation for part type reduction and standardization. Minimum (Basic) qualifications to be considered… * Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or Physics * 2 or more years of work experience with electronic components * 5 or more years of engineering experience * Due to federal contract requirements, must be a US Citizen; cannot hold dual citizenship Preferred Qualifications Include… * A broad range of electronic components (Discrete electronic components, microprocessors, memory, FPGA, and hybrid circuits, etc.) * Military parts specifications * Components drawings such as PCD, SCD and SID preparation * Custom component quality, up-screening and design requirements * Designing for manufacturability and parts procurement lead time reduction. * Management of a Parts Control Plan * Components Obsolescence Monitoring and Management * Support of design engineering in parts selection and resolving parts issues by obtaining information from component manufacturers and suppliers At Moog we work in an environment where people trust, respect and encourage one another.
