Job Description: The Electro/Mechanical Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

This position reports to the Quality Assurance Director.

Inspector is responsible for inspection of products at various stages of the production process in accordance with the company’s procedures for safety and quality.

Uses various measuring devices to accept, reject, or reevaluate defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams; dial indicators, micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists as applicable.

Reads and interprets the requirements of drawings and plans.

Performs complex tests using instruments and equipment.

Analyzes drawing requirements and makes sound determination(s) of the appropriate inspection method/equipment to be used for product acceptance.

Constructs complex inspection set-up(s) and performs required inspections (using set-up) to determine product acceptance.

Initiates and completes all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision.

*

Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

This position requires a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical inspection. Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering preferred.

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in performing board and cable inspections.

IPC-1-610 and 620 certification a plus.

Experience with CMMs preferred.

Must be proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Must have experience with calipers, micrometers, height gage and other small hand tools.

Experience in the following areas is preferred. Without experience, this position requires the willingness and ability to learn and/or become certified:

Electrical products such as components, circuit boards (IPC-610) and cables (IPC-620)
