Electrical Engineer Intern RD

Position Description:

Position Summary:

Position is a commitment of 6 months starting March. Performs related duties in the development of AC and DC power conversion hardware and at the system and circuit level, during the product development cycle. AMETEK is looking to hire three (3) interns for this role.

Responsibilities:

The focus for this assignment will be on a new design challenge– release new product family of AC or DC source. Tasks will be related t create, develop, evaluate, simulate, and debug circuits for brand new technology like be-directional DFC, CLLC resonant switching. New design with significant reduce cost of product, reduce number of single source components and increase reliability of the product. To meet this objective new intern will be help and focus in:

a. Thermal analysis and thermal evaluation
b. Design verification tests of new circuits
c. Testing and Modulation of new circuits

Position Requirements:

Requirements:

• Junior or Senior year studying Electrical Engineering.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder for ITAR compliance.
• Must be able to commit 28hrs/week during school year.
• Relevant experience in the design of analog and digital electronics a plus.
• Proficient in common engineering design tools, such as simulation software, mathematical analysis, schematic capture, MS Excel/Word, and database applications.
• Knowledge with PWB layout software is desirable.
• Knowledge is desirable in the use of PC-based development tools and firmware (C, C++, Visual Basic) for microcontrollers, DSPs, and user interface (data communications, GUIs).
• Good interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
