The Electrical Design Engineering team at Moog Aircraft Group is positioned for growth. We are looking for a Power Supply Design Engineer to develop state of the art Power Supplies from the R&D stage through delivery of engineering samples, production support, and to providing sustaining engineering. This position is located at our facility in Torrance, CA. Moog Aircraft Group is the leader of advanced flight controls for commercial and military aircraft. As a Power Supply Design Engineer, you will… * Design and develop (but not limited to) DC/DC converters with power density of up to 10W in3, convection cooled. * Propose and evaluate optimum Power Supply topology. * Verification of the proposed design by circuit simulation. * Design magnetic elements for the Power Supplies to meet MiL-T-27 * Thorough understand of bode plots and skills to determine phase and gain margins. * Provide technical support to packaging for Thermal Design. * Provide technical support to CAD for PCB layout with respect to single point grounding, low impedance, low noise etch paths. * Provide technical support to reliability with Power Supply worst case analysis. To be considered, you will need to meet these Minimum (Basic) Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited institution * 5 or more years of Power Supply work experience (design, bench level testing, debugging of power circuits, testing) * Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US citizen * Ability to obtain a Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications Include: * Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited institution * Experience in the aerospace industry * Experience designing and developing Power Supplies compliant to US military standards (Mil-STD-704, Mil-STD- 461 and MiI-T-27). * Experience with component selection and worst case analysis for military temperature range. * Experience preparing test procedures, test reports, and conducting design reviews. * Ability to work independently and in a design team environment.
