Position Description

The Electrical Airframe Designer is responsible for producing and reviewing primarily electrical documents and drawings on a variety of helicopter systems including those found on; Sikorsky, Bell and Airbus Helicopter aircraft. Preparing AutoCAD/Solid Works drawings for modifications, customizations and repairs on aircraft. Creating documents such as aircraft ICAs, ELA’s, FMS’, Major Modification reports, Safety Assessments and engineering reports. Ensuring OEM, customer and regulatory quality standards are met for all aspects. Reviewing, interpreting and following technical documentation is required. The ability to produce quality work within predetermined time constraints is part of this position.

Key areas of responsibility:
• Systems integration and design using AutoCAD software.
• Reviewing technical documents of other engineers’ and organizing technical documents
• Preparation of certification documents including compliance programs, ICA’s, SSA’s, ELA’s, FMS’s etc., Maintenance Manual Supplements, Safety Assessments, PSCP’s
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory specifications (FAA & Transport Canada) and creating corresponding statement of compliance
• Preparing estimates of Avionics/ Mechanical drawing/ Technical documents for the purpose of aircraft customization quotes
• Record keeping, filing and data entry, research projects
• Miscellaneous projects on an as-needed basis
Position Requirements

• Previous experience working with Auto Cad in Aviation Avionics drawing essential, helicopter experience a bonus (having a B. Sc. is not essential)
• Completion of Auto Cad level 2 BCIT (or equivalent)
• University Engineering Education an asset
• Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed technical reports and specifications
• Technical Writing
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, MS Project)
• Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
• Thorough understanding of all technical documents such as technical bulletins, alert service bulletins, etc.
• Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations/ Federal Regulations
• Hands-on electrical experience an asset
