As part of a highly collaborative environment you will work independently and on a multi-disciplinary team. As such, candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the desire to take on new tasks and develop new skills. Candidates should posses experience in the entire product cycle and be comfortable developing systems and components from concept design through fabrication all the way through integration into full vehicle systems. Direct, first person, hands on experience is highly prized. Positions available for all levels of experience including entry and senior level.
Candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder).
Education Requirements: Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or a Relevant Discipline
· Experienced Level: B.S. and preferably an M.S.
· Senior Level: M.S. and preferably a Ph.D.
Experience Requirements (an advanced degree may qualify for years of experience):
· Experienced Level: 3 (+) Years of Relevant Industry Experience
· Senior Level: 8 (+) Years of Relevant Industry Experience
Interests, Working Knowledge and Backgrounds Normally Include a Mix of:
· Mechanical engineering with a background in complex dynamic assemblies and a working knowledge of the means by which such systems are fabricated and tested.
· Thermal engineering with a background in the fundamentals of providing thermal management for both mechanical and electrical components and sub systems
· Electrical engineering with a background in electro-mechanical machinery, power electronics, power distribution, and/or controls.
· Test and evaluation experience with a background in the design of test rigs, test planning and execution and test data reduction.
· Propulsion system design, analysis, integration and testing of advanced synchronous and asynchronous components including motors, generators, power control electronics, conductors, and energy storage devices.
Familiarity with advanced electric propulsion system components:
· High torque density motors
· High performance energy storage devices
· Power electronics
· High voltage distribution harnesses and interconnects
· High and low speed rotating machinery
· Metallic and composite structures
Knowledge of system chain of:
· Power Generation
· Electric Energy Storage
· System Control
· Power distribution
· Energy conversion (mechanical to electrical, electrical to mechanical)
· Aircraft Propulsion (rotors, propellers, control surfaces, etc)
Engineering Industry Background May Include:
· Automotive electric propulsion
· Aerospace and aircraft propulsion
· High power electrical system research and development
Test and evaluation of mechanical and electrical systems
