Overview and Objectives of the Position:

 

The Ground Instructor is responsible for delivering high quality Theoretical Knowledge instruction to students in compliance with the Airways Aviation Training standards and

applicable aviation authority regulations. He/she ensures that each student meets course

standards, training requirements and objectives. This position is training students with a

strong focus on professional behaviour and attitude besides strong theoretical knowledge

training. Therefore ‘teaching by example’ is a very important responsibility for the Ground

Instructor.

Key accountabilities:

 

  1. Instruct students in Theoretical knowledge training strictly adhering to the applicable Training Standards, Airways Aviation Quality standards and/or other company directives
  2. Monitor, plan and assist students to enable satisfactory progress through the course and stay within established timelines; timely and pro-active reporting and action to prevent delays and unsatisfactory progress
  3. Support the integration of Ground and Flight School and interact with the flight training team to optimize the student experience
  4. Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all student and Theory related administration and records including planning for examinations
  5. ‘Teaching by example’ by behaving as an exemplary role model to students promoting professional, disciplined and safe behaviour
  6. Monitor status and cleanliness of all classroom equipment and report discrepancies to the responsible people
  7. Identify and initiate improvements for practical instruction and Training Standards and work with responsible people to constantly improve standards and quality levels

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities:

 

  1. Train the Trainer Course, or Core Course,
  2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience teaching ATPL subjects
  3. Ability to work well in a highly structured environment
  4. Team oriented
  5. Result oriented
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  7. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  8. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook
