L3 Technologies, Communication Systems East, is currently recruiting for a Director of Software Engineering for our Camden, NJ office. This position will be reporting directly to the VP, Engineering. The Director, Software Engineering will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Software Engineering Skill Center. Composed of a staff of approximately 90 in support of an industry leader in designing secure, high rate embedded communication and equipment control application systems for a vast array of military and commercial applications. Position functions within a matrix organizational structure and supports 2 separate business entities. Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Often required to collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the design, development and utilization of electronic data processing and communication systems software.

S/he is responsible for technical (software) liaison at the highest levels of the organization.

Responsible for employee training and development, performance assessment, work assignments and assisting with talent acquisition.

Responsible for all projects assigned to the organizational directorate.

*

Acts as an advisor to subordinate managers and staff members to help meet established schedules or resolve technical and/or operational problems.

S/he submits and administers budget schedules and performance standards.

*

Coordinates activities of the skill center so they mesh well with the overall objectives of the business.

Assures a directorate maturity of CMMI 3+ and full Continuous Integration on all projects and Continuous Deployment when applicable.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

· BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering relevant to the role and responsibilities of the position.

· Minimum of 10 years Software Engineering Experience (Communications).

· Minimum of 5 years first line engineering management experience.

· Good understanding of Business Development, proposal development and Program Management.

· Effective presentation and communication skills .

· Proven leader with strong influence skills.

· Must be US Citizen.

· Ability to obtain and maintain asecurity clearance is required.

Desirable Experience/Educational Qualifications:

· MS in CS, CE or EE relevant to the role and responsibilities of the position .

· Process Orientation

· Excellent team building skills

· Ability to effectively integrate across organizations
