Director JFK Infrastructure Development

Position Summary

The Director JFK Infrastructure Development leads JetBlue’s development and real estate expansion at JFK International Airport. The Director will define the strategic vision for the development of JFK and partner with internal and external stakeholders to design, build, and finance a potential expansion. The Director JFK Infrastructure Development reports to the Vice President of Infrastructure, Properties and Development. The Director works in a project-oriented environment and engages in complex, broad analyses and is also an influential leader who is comfortable with maintaining a public profile and is skilled at building and maintaining relationships at all levels – internal and external.

Essential Responsibilities

* Develop the optimal operational and financial structure for a terminal expansion at JFK that aligns with JetBlue’s strategic and financial objectives

* Ensure terminal development aligns with JetBlue’s design, Customer experience and operations requirements

* Develop and maintain a detailed project plan including the creation of project goals/deadlines and performance evaluation criteria

* Ensure on time project delivery and to budget while meeting JetBlue’s strategic objectives

* Report progress to JetBlue leadership and JetBlue Board of Directors

* Collaborate cross-functionally to manage and align multiple internal and external stakeholders with different objectives

* Oversee all aspects of selecting a development team including coordination of a competitive process

* Assist in the negotiation of term sheets and other transaction documents

* Ensure all development complies with applicable FAA and PANYNJ design standards and operating and administrative requirements

* Support the preparation of federal, state and local grant applications when necessary for funding

* Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, and goal achievement

* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Real Estate or related field

* Seven (7) years of work experience in an airline, airport or government environment

* Knowledge of large scale infrastructure project finance models

* Knowledge of airport and airline economics

* High proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage strategic projects/planning

* Three (3) years leadership experience

* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

* Ability to craft and deliver key messages through presentations and reporting to senior leadership

* Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

* Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

* Excellent organization and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail

* Strong negotiation skills

* Financial analysis skills

* A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others

* Ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders

* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field

* Previous experience in airline, airport or railroad finance

* Previous experience working on cross-functional teams

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

* Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

* Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

* Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

* Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

* Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
