Description

To drive a step change in IATA’s efforts in ensuring the reliable supply of jet fuel at competitive prices across the globe. This is a key strategic management role responsible for optimizing the supply value-chain, reallocating risk, driving measurable financial and service level improvements for airlines, transforming fueling processes through standardization and digitalization, as well as delivering benefits for the industry overall.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement programs to ensure improvements in the overall fuel supply chain from refinery to airport;

Develop and implement programs to facilitate reliable supply of jet fuel given the projected growth in demand over the next 20 years including specific focus on alleviating forecast shortfalls in determined regions/airports;

Set direction in setting global polices in conjunction with senior airline experts;

Influence senior industry stakeholders to generate buy-in to airline needs and drive collaboration across the industry;

Influence regulations and national polices related to fuel supply;

Drive effective competition and competitive pricing for jet fuel supply at airports;

Manage the IATA commercial fuel team to proactively adapt to changes in the business / operational / political environments relating to jet fuel supply and procurement;

Implement strategy for digitalization of the end-to-end fuelling process;

Oversee the Aviation Fuel Forum providing leadership to drive industry level buy-in and collaboration;

Coordinate activity with IATA Environment experts to facilitate commercialization of the supply of Sustainable Alternative Fuels at airports;

Support the development and implementation of standards and training tools for fuelling;

Coordinate with IATA Technical Fuel experts on implementation of quality improvement programs;

Coordinate with IATA Governance including the Advisory Councils to the Director General and the Passenger Services Conference.

Qualifications and Skills

10 years’ experience at a senior management level in aviation, with responsibilities for jet fuel procurement, aircraft fuelling or supply management;

Gravitas and credibility to be able to lead IATA and airline delegations and influence senior governmental and industry stakeholders across the globe;

Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills with a positive approach to problem solving;

Detailed knowledge of the global jet fuel supply chain, market dynamics and economic drivers;

Detailed knowledge of airline procurement practices for jet fuel including contracts, tools and processes;

Proven understanding of trends and opportunities in aircraft turnaround efficiency, the use sustainable aviation fuels and quality assurance processes;

Proven experience in managing digital transformation initiatives for procurement to pay;

Relevant first degree, advanced degree qualification preferred;

Customer service oriented, strong social skills and ability to collaborate with different cultures and manage teams in a multi-cultural environment;

Excellent public speaking and written skills.
