Dimensional Inspector

Job Description

SUMMARY: Inspects forgings, extrusions and finished machine parts for dimensional accuracy and surface defects by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

Reads and understands specifications and can follow procedures

Measures dimensions of product for final acceptance with precision instruments.

Visually examines forgings for defects such as cracks, unfills, and surface finish.

Separates any defective parts for quality dispositions.

Certifies all measuring instruments prior to use in final inspection.

*This position could potentially require daily, weekend, and/or holiday overtime in addition to the regularly scheduled work day/week.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Visual and hearing protection is provided and required to be worn at all times.
