Development Chef

What the role is:

This is a customer facing role with a real focus on relationship development and a culinary offering that can drive business growth. You will drive the agenda for exceeding our customer’s expectations, to make Alpha LSG the culinary market leader and partner of choice.

What you’ll be doing will include:

Work alongside customer and sales/commercial team to understand customer requirements fully

*

Develop dishes and products and propose ideas that match the customer brief

*

Design entrées and products that will transition to large scale batch production

*

Prepare customer presentations with assistance of the team to meet presentation deadlines

*

Lead Menu Presentations to Customers and assist Culinary Excellence with high profile Menu Presentations

*

Assist with transitioning presentation dishes into mainstream production

*

Explain kitchen/production concepts in comprehensible terms to customers and chefs

*

Lead in-house presentations to Chefs on new products and new methods of production

*

Work with commercial team on menu specifications post-presentation to ensure accuracy and consistency of data

*

Develop entrée/product specifications for presentation

*

Manage a team of chefs and general assistants

*

Support the unit manager effectively acting as deputy when required

What you’ll have will include:

*

Experience of working in various types of culinary outlets

*

Experience of large scale batch production and working with frozen production

*

Experience of scaling development of entrées up to large scale production volumes

*

Professional culinary qualifications e.g. 706/1, 706/2 and 706/3 or diploma/degree level

*

Good computer skills (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

*

Strong communication skills, building rapport and creating long-term business relationships

*

Enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude to producing a quality product within tight deadlines

*

Must be able to deliver to deadlines

*

Flexible to travel to other UK locations to meet customer requirements
