FPS Aviation , on behalf of our UK Rotary Client have a position available for a Design Project Lead.

This is a Permanent Position.

Job Description

Responsible to the HDO for the delivery of the design and certification packages. Lead the project team in all elements of design related to a specific project(s

 
Responsibilities

Top 4 Major Tasks and Activities:

  1. Lead all design elements relating to a particular project(s) including the delivery (on time and to the appropriate quality) of all relevant design and certification data.
  2. Generate design concepts and support the design engineers in execution of the design and certification package.
  3.  Lead design reviews related to the project(s).
  4.  Provision of support to the production and installation engineers in matters relating to the project(s).

Additional Key Accountabilities:

  1. Team building, recruitment and selection.
  2. Coaching design engineers and overseeing their development.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

  1. Design and certification data.
 
Qualifications & Requirements

Key Technical Skills / competencies:

  1. Senior design level (or equivalent) in Avionics/Electrical or Mechanical aerospace design environment. (E)
  2.  Team leadership including the functional supervision of Design Engineers (E)
  3. Check Signatory for Avionics/Electrical or Mechanical drawings (E)
  4. Compliance Verification Engineer for avionics/electrical or Mechanical drawings and certification reports as authorized by the Chief of the Office of Airworthiness. (E)
  5. EASA Part 21 Subpart J (DOA) requirements. (E)
  6. EASA Part 21 Subpart G (POA) requirements. (D)
  7. Ability to work to a high and consistent level of accuracy (E)
  8. Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) (E)

Company/Industry Knowledge:

  1. Experience working within an Aerospace Design Office. (E)
  2.  Experience of the full design life-cycle from conception to delivery of the design package. (E)

Qualifications:

  1. HNC, HND, Degree in a relevant engineering subject (or equivalent). (E)
  2.  An engineering apprenticeship with relevant experience. (D)
  3.  Project management qualification (D)
