FPS Aviation are recruiting a Design Engineer for a prestigious client in the South East of England. The position is a permanent position within our clients Technical Services Department. A highly competitive salary and benefits are on offer to the right candidate

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including the preparation and checking of design documents and drawings and addressing in-service difficulty reports/design queries after completion of a design. They must also ensure that all design procedures are adhered to. They will be effective in identifying problems, securing relevant information, relating data from different sources and identifying possible causes of any problems.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

ØTo provide designs for concept and integration of avionic mission equipment to meet Customer requirements. ØTo translate proposed concept into detailed design in compliance with Certification requirements. ØProvide leadership and direction for engineering work packages.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

ØA good aviation background based in the Engineering discipline. ØA detailed engineering knowledge of aircraft avionics systems preferably with a helicopter bias. ØA good working knowledge of: Øequipment qualification process and related standards, ØFAR/JAR/CS 27 and 29 Certification Requirements and ØEASA IR 21J DOA and MAA DAOS process and practice (preferably both but at least one). ØUnderstanding of Aircraft System and Software Safety Analysis processes. ØQualification practice ØComputer literate in MS Office desktop applications
