Data Engineer - Amsterdam
As a Data Engineer working for Travix, your responsibilities will be vast, dynamic and at the same time, specific. You are responsible for our data warehouse platform.
You are data-driven in your setting of priorities and targets, capable of presenting in a clear and objective manner to track the progress of every project. You must be experienced in coding, engineering and modelling data in order to analyze the market as well as strategize using your great intuition about data.
The challenges:

You will be operating within our Data Engineering team, focus greatly on our data warehouse solutions.
*
Analyze and translate data into insights.
*
With your team, you will design and develop the new Travix platform given a high level of freedom and fast decision making.
*
Design, code and test tools for other engineers to enable data ingestion.
*
Able to cope with an agile environment with high complexity and new challenges every day.
*
Deliver your work with high quality and throughput.
What you bring to the table:
We are looking for individual who has a flexible and can-do mentality, loves to develop new things and are enthusiastic about the new area of expertise.
It is important that you have:
*
3~4 years of experience in data engineering
*
3 years working experience as a BI developer in consultancy or specialized agency
*
Coding in Python/Java/C#...
*
Experience with big data solutions such as Hadoop, BigQuery, redShift,...
*
Experience in source controlling tool such as Git//TFS…
*
Proficient knowledge as well as experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, ER and Dimensional modeling, reporting, Data warehouses, Metadata and ETL.
*
Familiarity with Agile software methodologies
*
Excellent communication skills
*
Experience in working in a continuous delivery environment
Aside from that, it will be a plus if you have experience with:
*
Docker
*
Linux
*
Event-driven solutions (ESB, MQ, etc.)
*
NoSql data stores (e.g Hadoop) , R, .NET; Dashboarding tools (e.g. Qlikview, Tableau, Power BI)
*
Cloud computing (Amazon, Google, Azure)
*
Continuous deployment system (Jenkins, TeamCity, Go CD)
*
Data streaming
*
Agile practices of TDD, Pair Programming, and CI/CD
