With the on-going growth of the company’s operations, Jota Aviation is looking to recruit a Crewing and Travel Officer reporting into the Operations Manager based at our offices at London Southend Airport.  This is a new position that has been created to support the busy operations team.  The role will initially entail working full-time, Monday to Friday with the potential to move to a 4 on, 4 off 12 hour shift pattern within the next 12 months.

The person responsible will be responsible for the following:-

    • The maintaining the crew schedule for all pilots and cabin crew ensuring that all flights are crewed in accordance with the company regulations and flight duty limitations.
    • Preparation and distribution of monthly crew rosters in accordance with company and FTL regulations.
    • Ensuring that the rostering of ground, aircraft and simulator training and checks are scheduled in accordance with the management training plans, liaising with Head of Training, Chief Pilot and the Ground Operations Manager.
    • Reacting to crew issues as and when they arise and resolving scheduling issues in accordance with the company’s flight duty limitations and communicating crew roster information to flight crews.
    • Ensuring the most cost effective ways of optimising crew usage.
    • Assigning scheduled, unscheduled and standby crew duties in accordance with the company flight duties limitations, regulatory and commercial requirements.
    • Managing crew leave requests and allocations in conjunction with aircrew management to ensure an efficient flying programme.
    • To provide a monthly pilot duty report to the Operations Manager
    • To forecast crew requirements based on additional flying or changes to the long term flight schedule
    • To organise and arrange safe travel for all aircrew and engineering staff in accordance with the flight schedule and in accordance with FTL regulations.
    • To source, quote and book cost effective travel services within the UK and Europe maintaining accurate records

Ideally, candidates should have previous experience in the aviation industry and have a good working knowledge of EASA training and licencing requirements, aircrew visa requirements/applications together with EASA ORO flight time limitations regulations.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent planning and organisation skills and be able to work well under pressure, remaining calm and focused.  You should enjoy working as part of team and have strong interpersonal skills, understanding the needs of others and be able communicate well at all levels.
