Position Overview:

The Technical Field Service Liaison is a primary member of an integrated team working with various DND and IMP personnel to improve aircraft serviceability on the front line by providing strong technical guidance and leadership in the resolution of immediate and long term issues impacting the CP140 fleet. The position enhances support to CP140 and embeds a highly knowledgeable CP140 expert within the first line unit. When not advising the resolution of immediate Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations, the position is also responsible to investigate the root cause of repetitive or significant technical problems and to recommend corrective actions. This role is, therefore, directly tied to optimizing aircraft serviceability, reducing the number of Ops Restrictions on each aircraft, and assisting in the timely identification and resolution of Supply and Engineering issues.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Work alongside Canadian Forces (CF) Base personnel to assist in trouble shooting Primary Air Vehicle (PAV) related technical issues.

* Work effectively with IMP Asset Management Specialists, Supply Chain Management and Integrated Logistics Support, et al. to resolve technical issues that are affecting operations.

* Carry out investigations to determine the cause (and root cause if applicable) of repetitive or significant technical problems and recommend and/or initiate corrective actions.

* Liaise effectively with CF Base/Engineering Project Office personnel, CP140 WSM Office, and on-site CF and contractor representatives.

* Coordinate between IMP and CF personnel special technical projects for aircraft support (MRP).

* Take a proactive approach to identify and resolve technical and logistics issues before they occur.

* Collaborate with other personnel/departments to maintain/improve cross-functional communication and decision making.

* Carry out technical operational analyses and projects as approved or required.

* Capture and action Technical Lessons Learned.

* Analyze Technical Assistance Request (TAR) data to seek opportunities for improvement of process.

* Monitor and report on technical performance with the aim to recommend and implement ways to reduce maintenance time and cost.

* Review and recommend changes to technical policies and procedures

* Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for technical and maintenance activities and interfaces.

* Convene and attend meetings with colleagues, supervisors and management to aid in resolution of technical and interface problems.

* Provide oral and written reports and correspondence as required.

* Satisfy customer technical requests in a professional manner and perform other functions asrequired by IMP management

Position Requirements

* Five (5) or more years of experience working directly on the CP140 at IMP’s facility or ten (10) years as a CF technician working on CP140 and will be familiar with CFTOs and troubleshooting on aircraft.

* Post secondary education will be seen as an asset.

* Experience and/or awareness of aircraft maintenance, aircraft scheduling, and managing the following:

* Project Management

* Life Cycle Material Management (LCMM),

* Asset Management (AMS)

* Integrated Logistic Support(ILS)

* Working/awareness knowledge of DND and/or IMP Supply Chain Management(SCM);

* Experience of Mechanical, Structural and Electrical systems;

* Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and AdobeAcrobat;

* Experienced with aircraft scheduling and understanding/managing work flow to gain best options to minimize aircraft unavailability is an asset

* Strong leadership skills;

* Analytical thinker and possess proven skills to translate technical data into common understandable language;

* Strong ability to work independently;

* Strong time management and organizational skills;

* Strong influencing skills and the ability to meet objectives working with colleagues;

* Strong process improvement & change management skills;

* Familiarity with the ISO 9000 quality environments

* The successful applicant will be eligible to meet requirements for the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP);
