Responsibilities

This Coordinator is responsible for processing, tracking, and maintaining all fingerprint and background requests for the Company. They will work closely with the Employment Team and applicants to verify all data and make sure that the correct process has been completed prior to any hires or internal moves.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

* Order and ensure the appropriate background checks are conducted for employees in various job classes by review job qualifications and requirements in order to ensure the necessary documentation is acquired
* Assess background and/or fingerprint results and candidate applications by identifying discrepancies, inconsistencies, and areas potentially requiring clarification or additional investigation
* Serve as the point of contact with candidates and Employees throughout the background and/or fingerprinting life cycle by ensuring regular communication, providing progress updates, offering guidance, and responding to questions
* Adjudicate background check results according to the Southwest background screening matrix by determining if any disqualifications exist in order to determine a Candidate’s eligibility for employment
* Prepare and audit status reports by inputting decision statuses on all background and/or fingerprint results including, but not limited to drug tests, criminal results, motor vehicle records, and employment history in order to monitor Candidate progress
* Distribute Pre-Adverse Action Notices to applicants who have not fulfilled regulatory requirements by discussing and requesting supporting documentation in order to comply with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) guidelines
* Audit vendor performance by identifying errors or inefficiencies in order to confirm accuracy of results, ensure accountability, and resolve discrepancies
* Track and review Criminal History Record Checks (CHRC) for permanent and temporary Employees by reviewing for hits, troubleshooting missing information, documenting in the HR system, and delivering results to the appropriate Station
* Process fingerprint hits by partnering with General Counsel to determine an individual’s compliance with Federal regulations and Southwest requirements and/or eligibility for SIDA clearance
* Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
* May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

*
Highschool diploma or equivalency required

WORK EXPERIENCE:

* 4 years of experience in Human Resources or a Bachelors degree required
* Backgrounds processing experience preferred
