About The Job

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

* Program development. Design, develop and prototype (or where already in existence, keep current) curriculum for pre-K to 12 programs focused on aviation focused STEM, history of aviation and career opportunities in aviation. Develop and run weekend programs for the general public. Position will be expected to study up where needed on curriculum and supplementary materials or TEKS standards. Manage and grow school partnerships to expand participation.

* Program planning and facilitation. Run education programs and/or supervise PT educators in doing so. Keep comprehensive, clean records including budgets, run program evaluations and work on continuous improvement of outcomes and program impact.

* Strategy and communication. Focus on communication of programs and vision internally and externally. Support grant writing.

* Volunteers. Support volunteer and facilitator training by educating volunteers/facilitators on exhibition content and facilitation strategies that maximize engagement and learning.

* Work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. Some evenings and Sundays may be required.

* Excellent education credentials and experience, ideally from a STEM based informal education environment

* Ability to translate between broader corporate strategies and education program, and to communicate their vision and plans with all levels of the company

* Able to multitask, think on his/her feet, and stay calm under pressure

* Detail oriented, highly organized, flexible, and adaptable

* Team player

* Comfortable with technology, e.g. desktop simulators

* Affinity for the Museum’s mission
