This is an outstanding opportunity for a Chief Engineer to join one of the worlds leading aerospace companies directing and influencing design and certification activities to ensure regulatory compliance. This is a critical strategic appointment and will require somebody with significant aeronautical design experience, well-versed with FAR / JAR / CS 27, 29 or 25 and with a consummate understanding of EASA IR 21J DOA and MAA DAOS practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Guide certification activities to ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Deliver certification requirements in line with design project deadlines
  • Verify that all activities support declarations of Compliance and Design Approvals
  • Provide CVE services
  • Support the professional development of team members within certification, airworthiness and compliance verification
  • Coordinate certification with airworthiness authorities
  • Continually assess and look for ways to improve business and regulatory processes
  • Support defect, malfunction and failure investigations in order to define the necessary actions for the continued airworthiness of the product


Your background and skills:

  • Broad knowledge of airframe, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Sound understanding of aircraft system and system safety analysis processes
  • Well-practised in compliance findings with FAR / JAR / CS 27, 29 or 25 certification codes
  • Sound knowledge of flight safety and incident reporting for continued airworthiness
  • Working knowledge of equipment qualification processes and related standards (civil and/or military reqs)
  • Previously performed in leadership role

You will possess a degree within Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent, very strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload.

In order for your application to be considered you must be eligible to work within the UK and fulfil the necessary criteria to gain Baseline and Military Security Clearance.
