Job Role:

The Aircraft Mechanic performs Organizational, Intermediate and limited Depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification, routine daily and periodic servicing and troubleshooting on F-15 B/D aircraft, aircraft systems, components and equipment. Additionally, ensures flight readiness and supports and executes launch and recovery operations. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed.

Must possess a high degree of aircraft systems expertise and be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions, special tool, test equipment and trouble shooting skills.

Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems and be able to maintain and service all aircraft main, auxiliary, secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level and bleed air components.

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical directives, planning documents, test specifications, technical publications and procedures, and applicable safety manuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance on F-15 aircraft - Required

• Experience maintaining other military fighters and FAA aircraft - a plus.

• Previous Plane Captain / Crewchief certified IAW / Government approved certification program for a minimum of one 1 T/M/S aircraft – highly desired

• FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License or able to obtain within 1 year of hiring

• U.S. Citizenship and Valid U.S. Passport

• Valid State Driver’s License - Required

• High School Diploma or GED - Required

• Ability to travel - Required

• Basic Aircraft Maintenance Hand tools - Required

• US Secret Clearance: Active Current a plus, able to obtain and maintain – Required.

Aircraft Mechanic Physical Requirements:

Describe the physical requirement of the job (e.g. Bending, lifting, overhead work):

Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights 70 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold.

Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time.

Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Must be capable of routinely performing industry standard ambidextriosities required to complete tasks. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18” – 24”.
