CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF CONTRACT

Develops training programs to ensure that all employees are properly trained and/or certified as required. Assists in identifying training requirements, which cannot be satisfied within the Columbus Program. Prepares requests, through appropriate base agencies, for training requirements for employees. Provides Computer Based Training, classroom standup, and hands on training for MDS and AGE maintained and provides evaluation of employee qualifications. Researches, writes, edits, and prepares training material (lesson plans/guides, viewgraphs, and handouts). Prepares, loads, and updates all CBT computers and programs when new programs are ordered from or updated by the USAF. Provides training required to cross-train/utilize personnel to perform other job functions. Monitors and tracks training program progress, objectives, and goals. Tracks and coordinates recurring certification requirements. Ensures training records of all site personnel are maintained in IMDS and prescribed training folders. Performs periodic inspections of work center training programs. Provides training plan inspection cycle. Coordinates training schedules and documentation requirements. Provides or schedules qualification, recurring, corrective, and additional training as detailed in the Training Plan. Provides classroom instruction as detailed in the Training Plan. Complies with all AFI and AETCI publications related to section assigned. Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. Performs tasks with minimum supervision. May be assigned as a Lead Instructor in his absence. May be assigned additional duties, to include Facility Custodian. May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections. May be required to be qualified on different MDS aircraft. Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed. Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct. Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with base agencies. Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required. Receives cross-utilization training (CUT) and is qualified to perform those tasks. Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel.

Qualifications

Three years recent experience as an aviation related Technical Training Instructor with knowledge of the Air Force Maintenance Program. Specific MDS/Shop experience may be specified. High school graduate or equivalent is required. Must be highly proficient in IMDS/GUI and data entry. Must possess excellent computer skills. Must be qualified on at least one of the major weapons systems or items of equipment maintained on the current contract. Must be a graduate of a recognized instructor-training course and be familiar with AFI 21-112, and AETCI 21-103 and 21-112. Must be able to attain and maintain an American Red Cross Instructor certificate and instruct company required CPR, First Aid and Blood-borne Pathogen classes. Must possess effective communication skills and be able to organize, implement, coordinate, monitor, and track training requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line drivers license and may be required to obtain and maintain a class CDL. Physical exertion requirement is medium.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights 70 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold.

Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time.

Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Must be capable of routinely performing industry standard ambidextriosities required to complete tasks. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18” – 24”.
