Carbon60 have an exciting new position for a Carpet Fitter to work in a permanent position based in Basel, Switzerland.

In order to reinforce the Upholstery Shop in Basel, Switzerland we are currently looking for an Carpet Fitter to be responsible for performing minor and major repairs on carpets installed in aircraft cabins by following the company procedures.

Role Description

 Perform minor and major repairs on carpets installed in aircraft cabins by following JBSL procedures

 Creating templates using current carpet or dimensions taken from the aircraft

 Cutting (per template), adjusting and fitting carpets for installation in aircraft cabins

 Perform work in accordance with the rules & regulations of the respective authorities

 Report issues, non-conformity, damages to next superior

 Clean and maintain work area by 5S and good housekeeping standards

 Maintain tools, use equipment and machines in accordance with internal regulation

 Follow and apply health and safety regulations

 Working as a part of a team under the advice of the superior

Qualification/Experience:

 At least 3 years of experience as carpet fitter (working on aircraft is beneficial)

 Able to read and interpret technical drawings

 In case of any discrepancy: formulate corrective actions in accordance with the existing processes

 Carpet fitter apprenticeship completed with appropriate educational qualification

 Basic level of computer skill

 English (speak, read and write) is mandatory

 Team spirit

 General knowledge on diverse professional activity

 Willingness and capability to deliver top product quality

Conditions and benefits

 42.5 hours per week

 Overtime, when available
