We are seeking a Cargo Duty Manager who will be responsible for the Supervision of Menzies Aviation employees and contractors, whilst operating at Perth Airport, as well as maintaining full compliance with our security program. You’ll lead and actively promote Work Health, Safety & Security across the department and build relationships with key stakeholders, airline customers, airport authorities and national regulatory bodies. You will drive standards and compliance across the department to ensure operational effectiveness. You will actively promote a fair and just reporting culture at all times.

Key duties and tasks will include, but not be restricted or limited to:

* Management of daily cargo operations (cargo office and warehouse), ensuring customer airline service standards are maintained.

* Ensure operational safety and security is upheld.

* Responsible for a customer airline portfolio.

* Provide ongoing leadership, training and direction to staff.

* Performance management including disciplinary issues and performance appraisals.

* Ensure that employee rosters, payroll data entry, employee files and absenteeism calendars are maintained.

* Assisting with the recruitment process for new employees as well as HR admin support.

* Regular communication with internal and external customers (including other station management).

* Compliance with Menzies Aviation, SACL, AQIS, ACS and OTS policies and procedures.

* Regular liaison with relevant authorities including participation on relevant committees and working groups.

* Regular completion of cargo warehouse, office and security audits.

* Responsible for GSE and facility maintenance.

Essential Skills To be successful in this role you must have the following skills and capabilities:

* Strong interpersonal skills with proven leadership background.

* Detailed knowledge of international & domestic cargo handling operational processes.

* Detailed knowledge of freighter aircraft ramp handling processes.

* Sound computer and word processing skills, including MS Office.

* The ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills.

* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

* Tertiary qualifications desirable but not necessary.

* Previous management experience desirable.

* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

* Able to work shift work.

In order to be considered you must have the ability to obtain an Airport Security Card, Police Check and pass a Drug & Alcohol Screen and Medical.
