As Pilot-in-Command (PIC), this position operates company and managed aircraft, Part 91 and Part 135, as scheduled, to ensure flight is conducted in safe and efficient manner. In addition, this position performs pre-flight and post-flight inspections; monitors SIC performance and provides guidance and OJT to ensure safe and efficient operations and personal and professional development of SIC’s; performs accurate and timely documentation as required; and represents Duncan Aviation on an executive level with business associates, officials and customers.

Essential Job Functions

* As Pilot-in-Command (PIC) operates company and managed aircraft, Part 91 and Part 135, as scheduled, to ensure flight is conducted in safe and efficient manner in accordance with FAR’s/Aircraft Flight Manual (AIM).

* Performs pre-flight inspections, as required (i.e. weight and balance, maintenance logs, checking weather conditions, filing flight plans, etc.). Arranges customer accommodations and handles any special customer requests as needed.

* Performs post-flight inspections, clean-up and paperwork as required or assigned. Prepares aircraft for next flight with all provisions on-board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.

* Researches and reads FAR’s/AIM’s, Duncan Aviation Operational Manual, FAA Operations Specifications Manual and other technical and regulatory publications to maintains knowledge of general aviation and charter operational requirements and activities. Participates in company and FAA training courses required to maintain flight status compliance with FAR’s, Flight Operations Manuals and Aircraft Flight Manuals. Updates manuals, and develops and conducts training as assigned.

* Monitors and evaluates SIC performance to guide, direct and provide OJT them in the adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), FAR’s/AIM’s, safety and efficiency standards.

* Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Job Specific Requirements

* License/Certificates: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate; First Class Medical; meets TSA security requirements; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
* Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; extensive travel, including multiple overnights; abnormal hours, including weekends and holidays
* Physical: Routinely lifts 50 lbs.; reads small print; hearing sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; works in confined spaces; works in heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
* Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments; frequent high stress situations
* Work Schedule: Must be available for all shifts.

Education and Experience

* High school graduate or equivalent required
* Minimum 2000 hours total flight time and 1000 hours multi-engine flight time preferred
* Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate preferred
