Cobham Search and Rescue (SAR) Services, working under a long-term contract with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority is looking for expressions of interest from Direct Entry Captains for future opportunities at all our bases from applicants who are passionate about making a difference. Our pilots fly in a unique and challenging environment, with a key humanitarian focus aimed at assisting people in potentially traumatic and life-threatening situations. As a Captain with the SAR team you will provide essential leadership and support to your entire crew working diligently, quickly and professionally to ensure each mission is a success. You will command a highly modified CL604 aircraft and will be part of a highly skilled team.   This vital role attracts a generous remuneration package and can provide fantastic job satisfaction.    Skills and Experience Essential
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with passport from a country without travel restrictions
  • CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical
  • Hold an Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence
  • Be eligible for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC)
  • 3000 hours total flying experience
  • 2000 hours pilot in command/ICUS
  • 100 hours night command
  • 1000 hours jet time and/or extensive multi-crew turbo prop experience in maritime surveillance or SAR operations and/or significant CL604 or similar experience
Desirable
  • At least 300 hours logged flight time in last 12 months
  • Maritime surveillance and/or search and rescue experience
  • CL604/605 type rating 
In addition:
  • You must commit to being within 30 minutes of your assigned airport when on night standby
  • Type rating training will attract a Bond
