Based at RAF Waddington, AAR International Inc. deliver supply chain management solutions to the Royal Air Force’s fleet of E-3D Sentry aircraft.  Employing over 90 people from buyers and logistics specialists to service support functions such as commercial, finance and IT, we also provide component maintenance, repair and overhaul for a wide range of aircraft components. 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Purchasing Team working as a Buyer, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

 

The main responsibility for this role is to ensure the effective and efficient flow of information, goods and services throughout the supply chain, whilst complying with AAR policies and procedures, health and safety rules, and quality assurance requirements. In addition, you will be responsible for receiving, monitoring and satisfying demands through the Inventory Management and Order Processing System (IMOPS), analysing quotations and issuing and maintaining purchase/repair/work orders.

 

You must have experience of working in a commercial purchasing environment, gaining an understanding of the supply chain process and associated principles, as well as be educated to at least GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent). Although not essential, it would also be advantageous if you had aerospace industry related experience and were CIPS qualified or working towards your CIPS qualification.

 

You will be able to develop and pursue potential business opportunities, form positive working relationships with our stakeholders, independently take ownership of initiatives delivering effectively with little supervision and be proficient at using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and Outlook) inclusive of data manipulation.

 

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and able to successfully undergo Security Clearance.
