Business Intelligence Analyst

Our new Business Intelligence Analyst position will take ownership for maturing the Business Intelligence Analyst capability, ensuring consistency in approach and quality of deliverables for that horizontal within the GIM software delivery team. They will also actively promote and drive the rollout/adoption of self-service tools (Power BI) and content in the EDW environment.

It’s an exciting time for the Jetstar Technology team as we evolve with our business and ever changing industry. The team is accountable for architecture, information management, cyber security, infrastructure and IT operations. We also provide service management functions through managed services arrangements and service provider contracts. Jetstar Technology works across the whole Jetstar business to plan and implement the organisation’s IT strategy, enhance and maintain our IT services, and ensure seamless and people-focused implementation of new systems.

Reporting to the Data Warehouse Manager your main accountabilities will include:
• Act as a member of the Agile delivery team, supporting the technical and architecture functions with respect to core solution development, coordination of acceptance testing and release management
• Develop proof of concept BI models and prototypes to prove solution feasibility
• Lead the acquisition and profiling of new data sources
• Active participation in product backlog prioritization and product planning processes
• Partner effectively with our stakeholders to elicit and document business objectives, processes, scope and specific use-cases that will drive product development
• Ensure the quality of Analyst deliverables by providing a QA function that can inform performance and development of personnel

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology discipline (Preferred).
• Certification or comparable experience in an Agile environment (Scrum/Lean)
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrable experience with best practice BI content delivery using visualization technologies and preferably Cloud Services technologies in the Amazon Web Services (EMR, Spark, Redshift, S3 etc.)
• Exposure to structured and unstructured data technologies
• Scripting skills in T-SQL, C# and preferably Python.
• Experience in data testing, reference data management and data quality processes.
• Experience working in an outsourced/offshore BI development environment.
• Applied understanding of Agile methodologies and ways of working
