Position description

In 2016 Swiss established a middleware integration layer based on Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) to facilitate the migration of the airline reservation and check-in systems to the Amadeus Altea system. As Business Analyst and Project Leader you will be part of the Cross Domain team, which is the owner of the SOA platform with overall responsibility for SOA governance and development.

Your main focus will be on supporting new projects using SOA, planning and controlling the development and ensuring that the Swiss SOA quality standards are met. You will support the business departments and projects in using the services and writing specifications. You will work closely together with the internal and external development departments to plan developments and ensure on-time delivery.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Lufthansa Group (LHG) teams in Frankfurt and Vienna to support the LHG business needs and digitalization strategy.

Ideally you have a technical background in SOA / middleware technologies, knowledge of the airline industry, especially Amadeus Altea and experience in project management.

Your Duties

* Support the business and projects with your knowledge to use the right services for SOA
* Formulate project orders, system specifications and support the solution-oriented evaluation process
* Review the interface specifications created by business and projects
* Plan, manage and control projects or sub-projects according standard project management method
* Coordinate change requests according to the pre-defined change management concept
* Create interface specification documents for internal interfaces
* Maintain the overall SOA documents
* Collect, summarize and distribute SOA knowhow within SWISS
* Drive and support the LHG digitalization strategy

Requirements

* Tertiary- or university degree in IT, Business Information or similar education
* Experience in Project Management
* Strong experience working in agile software teams and exposure to Scrum, Kanban, etc.
* Experience in Requirements Engineering
* 3+ years work experience in the area of SOA / middleware
* Knowledge in digitalization strategies
* Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Willingness to travel occasionally (Basel, Frankfurt and Vienna)
* Fluency in English is essential, German would be an advantage
* Knowledge in airline industry is a plus
