Swoop is recruiting for motivated and dynamic Inflight Base Leader with the ability to lead a front-line team to achieve optimal performance. This position is an integral part of the inflight management team.
Overview:
The Base Leader is responsible for the delivery of all performance, support and inflight service aspects for Swoop Flight Attendants. This includes, but is not limited to, recognition, performance management, ability management, career development, employee relations and health and wellness programs. This position also carries the responsibility to influence the behavior of Flight Attendants to meet other business objectives.
Responsibilities:
The Base Leader reports to the Senior Leader, Inflight.
* Provide guidance and direction to Flight Attendants in all aspects of performance management
* The professional standards of the Flight Attendants
* Responsible for airport-specific administration for specified base(s)
* Responsible to ensure that all onboard manuals (Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), Cabin Operations Manual, etc.) are updated with bulletins, revisions or amendments as applicable
* Follow up with the Flight Attendants on Inflight Operational Reports, questions and concerns in a timely manner
* Conduct regular gate/ramp visits to maintain management visibility and accessibility to Flight Attendants
* Conduct Flight Attendant onboard performance reviews and regular performance reviews
* Inflight liaison for all traveller product, service initiatives and corporate initiatives (e.g. Marketing, Provisioning, Procurement, Traveller Services, etc.)
* Manage program development and the implementation of Inflight Cabin Services initiatives specific to inflight service, product delivery and cabin appearance
* Responsible for developing and supporting excellent employee relations and performance
* Responsible for Inflight forms
* Investigate and respond to internal and external feedback about Flight Attendant performance
* Participate in the internal and external recruitment for Inflight in conjunction with the People department
* Maintain Flight Attendant qualification and fly as a Lead or Line Flight Attendant as needed
* Ensure staffing levels meet both short- and long-term objectives and requirements
* Responsible for best practices related to crew management and inflight services to ensure a highly engaged workforce that is informed, high performing and aligned to the guest experience deliverables
* To provide guidance and direction to Flight Attendants in all aspects of performance, including compliance with safety and service procedures, uniform standards, Company policies and customer experience
* Ensure that the correct records on Flight Attendant performance are kept by the Inflight Leadership team and that these records comply with internal and external policies
* Ensure follow-up with Flight Attendants on Incident Hazard Reports (IHRs) (AQD reports)
* Utilize social media platforms to communicate and connect with Flight Attendants
* Implement and influence all traveller experience standards and processes
* Liaise with other Company departments to ensure consistency among standard policies and procedures
* To be responsible for receiving mail to base (uniforms, brevets) and distributing crew mail to mailboxes
* To be responsible for Infight’s operational performance (SPOT/OTP)
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of leadership experience required with a demonstrated balance between customer service, safety and operations
* Industry experience within the Inflight area a requirement; preferably operations
* Proven knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) Parts VI, VII
* Proven track record of developing effective teams
* Post-secondary education an asset
* Ability to multitask & handle changing priorities
* Very proficient in PC based applications, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
* A strong understanding of the working environment of cabin crew is an asset
* Excellent oral and written skills are required
* Proven organization and time management skills
* Travel out of town is required
* Available to work weekends and evenings
* Operational coverage 24/7
* Operate as a Flight Attendant as required
* Other special projects as required by the Senior Leader, Inflight
